Veterans Breakfast

The Veterans Breakfast took place on the 7th of November, here at DMA. The event was a success with over 300 hundred veterans attending. It is an annual event held at DMA which gives cadets an opportunity to spend time with veterans, young and old. The event begins in the morning at the start of school. Students and their esteemed guests partake in a mouth watering breakfast sponsored by the PTA and then sit through a wonderful ceremony that thanks the veterans for their service and sacrifices. It was a great success thanks to the PTA and the great effort of the students and NSI's; I cant wait till next years ceremony.

How Was the Dining In?
By: Larry McNutt
The Dining in is a traditional ceremony in the military where the different branches of the military get together for a feast and reunion of recent acomplishments of the year. "Dining in is a formal military ceremony for members of a company or other unit, which includes a dinner, drinking, and other events to foster camaraderie and esprit de corps."DMA's has its own version of the traditional military event, held by all branches. Hosted by the NSI's, 218 cadets and several staff members attended the event on November 7th, at the Cavalier Country Club. Gunner Bahr stated: "If the event was any better, I couldn't stand it." Each cadet who attends the event can bring a guest for free (outside of DMA) and attend the event in the appropiate uniform (Chiefs and above wore service dress uniform, and PO1's and below wore Peanut Butters). Between the Parading of the Beef (Involving two cadets [Hannah Garbowski and Joey Scalia]) serving the President and Vice President) a new change-up to the event (Involving a choreographed dance to Thriller [involving Kiara Orioela, Joey Scalia, Hannah Garbowski and me]), and a delightful dinner at the buffet including the delights from pasta to the Beef Bourguignon. There are several toasts in honor of the armed services performed, and also several fines to the President and Vice President. An example of a fine would be: Mr.Pullela was fined for texting and driving. The Reprecussion? The President ordered Mr.P to perform the "Little Teapot" dance.
