DMA Representatives & The Second Annual Anti-Bullying/Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) Summit
By: Michael McGonigle
On Saturday, October 26th, 4 students from the GSA of DMA attended the second annual Anti-Bullying/Gay-Straight Alliance Summit. Michael McGonigle (President of GSA), Nicole Burrows, Catherine Iocco, and Caitlyn Stewart attended the summit. It was great to come together with other schools for such a great event. Lt. Governor Matt Denn and Senator Chris Coons also attended the summit to speak out about how important it is that schools get together and discuss bullying and depression among teens.
It is not well known yet that DMA has an official GSA. The main, but certainly not the only, purpose of the GSA is to form alliances within the school. GSA is also a "safe space" for those students who struggle with depression. Anyone is welcome to join, contact Michael McGonigle with any questions!

Ice Cream Social, a Success
by: Michael McGonigle
Every year the Music Boosters sponsors the Ice Cream Social. It's a great event where cadets, staff and family members eat hot dogs and ice cream while listening and singing along to music. Mr. Grant is there singing and playing music. Everyone always has a good time, and this year was no different. Cadet, Lexi Papa, told SNN that "she had fun singing karaoke." This years' ice cream social was even bigger than the years' past. "There were more people that last year," says sophomore cadet, Gracie Ruiz. Thanks to all the people behind the scenes that made the event such a success.
